PHILPOT, Ky. — David A. Chinn, 59, of Philpot, passed away on June 21, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky. David was born Feb. 24, 1959, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Ralph Chinn and Sibyl Shultz Chinn.

He was employed at CSX Transportation for the past 22 years.

He was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church in Habit, Kentucky, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and working in his yard, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Rhonda Morris Chinn, in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of six years, Ramona Chinn; his children, Brandon France, of Amarillo, Texas, Chris (Jennifer) France of Smyrna, Tennessee, Cameron Cox and Tara Cox, both of Louisville, Kentucky; one grandchild, Logan Cox; two brothers, Dennis (Rosie) Chinn, of Walton, Kentucky, and Daryl (Portia) Chinn, of Philpot; two nephews, one niece, and three great-nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethabara Baptist Church in Habit. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
