HARTFORD, Ky. — Robert James “Jim” Bishop, 49, of Hartford, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born June 8, 1968, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Hilda Fulkerson Knight and the late Ronald F. Bishop.

Mr. Bishop a master electrician with IBEW Local 1701 and a member of Hartford Baptist Church.

Aside from his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, William O. “Chester” Knight, and grandfather, Robert H. Fulkerson.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Bishop, of Hartford; two daughters, Jessica Marie Bishop, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Amber Dawn Bishop, of Lexington, Kentucky; mother, Hilda Ann Knight, of Hartford; grandmother, Anna Rae Fulkerson, of Tennessee; brother, John Ray (Alisha) Bishop, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; half-brother, Michael Bishop, of Michigan; half-sister, Annie Croft, of Michigan; stepbrothers, Jimmy (Kathy) Knight, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Mark (Cheryl) Givens, of Beaver Dam, and Pat Givens, of Beaver Dam; stepsister, Elizabeth (Danny) Cook, of Beaver Dam; nephew, Tyler Bishop; and niece, Brittany Nicole Bishop.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery in Echols, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mr. Bishop’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
