OHIO COUNTY, Ky. — Anna Catherine “Mammy” Buck, 100, of Ohio County, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Goshen, Kentucky, to the late Edward Barnes and Vera Caldwell Barnes Bristow.

She retired from the Montpelier Factory where she worked as a seamstress. She was the world’s best mammy, you always had a meal at Mammy’s house, and a big meal on Sunday’s. She was a great cook. She loved to shop.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Buck, who passed away December 23, 1971, Richard Barnes, Margaret Haven, Virginia Sheffield, and Nana Kathleen, her twin sister.

She is survived by her children, J.C. (Kathy) Buck, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Anita Jo (Doug) Ashby, of Greenwood, Indiana, Martha Sue Fulkerson, of Beaver Dam, Linda Lou Horton, of Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jenny Bell (Kenneth) Miller, of Owensboro, Kentucky.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
