OWENSBORO, Ky. — Dorothy “Dot” Elizabeth Roberts Evans, 80, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, surrounded by her children. She was born in Whitesville, Kentucky, on March 11, 1937, to the late Robert and Rosa Roberts.
Dorothy was a member of Bells Run Baptist Church. She worked at Cowden’s in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Cigar Factory, MacAtees and Grant’s in Owensboro, and she enjoyed babysitting many children.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Roberts and Tommy Roberts, and her grandson, Mark Renfrow.
Dorothy is survived by her companion of 17 years, Jimmy Henderson; her four children, Debbie Renfrow, of Owensboro, Elizabeth “Sissy” (Buzzo) Jackson, of Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky, Rhonda (Kenny) Johnson and Ricky Evans, both of Owensboro; her six grandchildren, Jeff (Allyson) Renfrow, Aaron (Angela) Wilson, Taylor Evans, Sadie Evans, Andy (Keri) Jackson and Misty (Michael) Osowicz; her eight great-grandchildren, Casey Renfrow, Payton Renfrow, Dakota Renfrow, Kolton Renfrow, Laney Wilson, Jett Wilson, Brayln Osowicz, and Hunter Osowicz; and her siblings, Frances Wilson, of Owensboro, and Otwell (Velva) Roberts, of Pellville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Burial is in Cates Cemetery, Whitesville. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
