UTICA, Ky. — Edgar Lee Bartlett, 84, of Utica, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, Sept. 1, 1932, to the late Rosel and Pearl Bozarth Bartlett.

He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy, retired vice president with the Mullen and Haynes Company after 39 years, and was a charter member of Living Faith Baptist Church.

He played basketball while in high school and the Navy, and played baseball. He enjoyed collecting antiques and old tools, was an avid UK basketball fan, and enjoyed coon hunting and his coon dogs.

Mr. Bartlett was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Alva D. Bartlett; one sister, Ilene Pinkston; a granddaughter, Libby Oller.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Bartlett, of Utica; two daughters, Jan Oller and husband W.O., of Utica, and Cindy Wright and husband, Freddie, also of Utica; a granddaughter, Angela Oller and her fiancé, Daniel Carmon, of Whitesville, Kentucky; a great-grandson, Parker Mattingly; one brother, Billy Bartlett and wife, Phyllis, of Yelvington, Kentucky; one sister, Jackie Pollard, of Las Vegas, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be noon Friday, Aug. 11, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Dr. James Wedding will officiate the service. Visitation will be 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
