DEPOY, Ky. — Rev. Jerry Glenn Wright, 75, of Depoy, passed away Saturday night, July 15, 2017, at 4:21 p.m. in the Baptist Health System in Madisonville, Kentucky, following a lengthy illness. Jerry was born in Luzerne, Kentucky, the son of Cecil Joel Wright and Anna Marie Spears Wright.

He retired from SuperValu in 1998 after 31 ½ years. He was a Baptist minister for 51 years and a member of Pleasant Union General Baptist Church in Hopkins County.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Anthony Lee Wright, in 2000; brother, Donald Wright; and sister, Edith Lyons.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Lee Jones Wright, of Depoy; three sons, Michael (Kathy) Wright, of Luzerne, Kevin (Stacy) Wright, of Tell City, Ind., and Jeff (Tammy) Wright, of Scottsville, Kentucky; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Roger (Becky) Wright, of Greenville, Kentucky; three sisters, Hilda (Jerry) Hale, of Greenville, Pat Bullock, of Fairfield, Ohio, and Carolyn (Ralph) Merrow, of Rockport, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Luzerne General Baptist Church by Reverend Kerry Vincent, Reverend Tony Shanks, Reverend Walter Evitts and Reverend Roger Wright.

Burial will follow in the Luzerne Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, from 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Luzerne General Baptist Church, Luzerne, Kentucky.

Gary’s Funeral Home, Greenville, is in charge of arrangements.
