Marjorie Condit

In Obituaries by OC Monitor Staff

CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Marjorie Condit, 98, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born in Centertown on May 21, 1918, daughter of the late Nathan C. and Julia Stroube Montgomery.

Marjorie loved to read, cook, collect dolls and she was a natural-born artist.

Our dear cousin has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Margie was a remarkable person.  Even though she was almost 99 years of age, she refused to use a walker, wheel chair or cane and had no need of sitters or care givers.  She even drove her car up to the last.  She fought very hard for her independence and reached that goal with great dignity and honor.  Our heritage, the  Montgomery name lives on.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Red” Condit, and her brothers, Van, Jim and Norwood Montgomery.

Marjorie is survived by two first cousins, Nancy Montgomery Shrewsbury and Eula Montgomery Gregory.  Also, a host of other Montgomery Cousins. We shall always have fond memories of Marjorie, growing up as kids, family, reunions and just lots of good family times together.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Sister Mary James and Bro. Roger Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Walton Creek Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Expressions of sympathy can be sent to Walton Creek Cemetery Centertown, Ky.
